As you may be aware during Phase 3 of the course many students are sent to far-flung corners of the state in search of clinical experience and a chance to have a baby. After spending almost a year in the wilderness phase 3 students congregate back in Wollongong for their final big exams. Since they’ve been away for so long and are likely to leave Wollongong shortly after for their elective, selective or PRINT many students struggle to find appropriate accommodation for the 2 to 4 week period during their exams.
To supplement the accommodation provided for these students by the University, we need your help. If you have a spare room, couch or spot on the floor and would be willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow med student for a short period they would be very grateful. The Phase 3 exams will take place during your ICE placement if you're first year or mid-year break if you're phase 2, so perhaps you or your housemates might be vacating a room for that 2-week period. And it's a great way to make friends and get some tips on what's ahead of you.
Fourth years have “wrap up week” from the 8th of June followed by a study week then exams from the 20-23rd of June so roughly around then.
Fill out the form below, or contact us if you have any questions.
This information will be passed on to interested fourth years and they will be in contact with you if they’re interested. Please let us know when you've filled your vacancy so that we can take it offline (email firstname.lastname@example.org). You're all graduates and intelligent adults so it goes without saying that this listing is provided as a service and in good faith, and that neither WUMSS, nor the GSM will be settling disputes about payment, or who didn't clean the shower, or who ate all the peanut butter etc etc.
